I try to find environments for men to interact with. If I can find a wall for them to lean against or stairs to sit on, they are often more comfortable because it gives them an environment to direct their movements. Figure 4.11 is an example of how a male subject can interact with his environment. Usually I start with a simple arms-crossed pose, and then I adjust to get just the right look.

Men often find posing more comfortable when they have something to lean on or interact with.
