Pair Of Leather Mittens

A PAIR of fingerless gloves, or m ┬┐tens, of thick brown leather; they measure only 8* -nchcs in length, of which inches forms a cuff of crimson morocco leather, the inside being lined some inches up with stout leather; the stitching throughout is of a very coarse character, and strength, rather than style or elegance, seems to have been the object of the maker ; their appearance suggests a falconer as their original owner, and their date is piobably early sixteenth centuiy.
